Is Sardines safe for dogs?
Safe for dogs
Tinned sardines in water, boneless or with soft edible bones, are a safe omega-3-rich treat in moderation when well drained.
Sardines are rich in omega-3 fatty acids that support skin, coat and joint health, making them a nutritious occasional treat. Choose tins packed in water rather than oil or brine, drain them well, and offer only boneless fillets or sardines with soft, fully edible bones. Feed in moderation and avoid any salted, smoked or flavoured varieties, as the added salt and oils are not good for dogs.
