What Hownd is

Hownd is a mobile app for keeping a personal health record of your dog. You log vet visits, medications, walks, photos, and other moments; Hownd stores them, organizes them into a timeline, and makes them easy to share with your vet when needed.

Your account

You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account. You're responsible for keeping your password safe. If you suspect someone else has your password, change it and email support@hownd.ca.

What you can do

• Use Hownd to track one or more dogs (Pro required for more than one).
• Export your records as PDF or share individual moments.
• Cancel your subscription at any time from your device's subscription settings.
• Delete your account and all data from Settings → Delete Account.

What you can't do

• Use Hownd for anything illegal.
• Try to reverse-engineer, scrape, or attack our servers.
• Resell access to your account or share login credentials.
• Use the AI Health Brief output to claim medical authority you don't have.

Subscriptions and payments

Hownd has a free tier (1 dog, 30 days of history) and a paid tier (Hownd Pro):

• Monthly: $4.99 / month
• Annual: $39.99 / year (about 33% off monthly)

Subscriptions are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). They auto-renew at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. We never see your payment details. To cancel or manage your subscription, go to your device's Subscriptions settings — not inside the Hownd app.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies; Hownd can't issue refunds directly. If you're stuck, email support@hownd.ca and we'll try to help.

The AI Health Brief, specifically

Hownd Pro includes an AI-generated PDF summary of your dog's records. The brief is a draft writing aid — it summarizes what you've entered. Errors and omissions are possible. Review every brief before sharing with a vet. Don't make medical decisions based on it alone.

Your content stays yours

You own everything you enter into Hownd — the records, the photos, the notes. We don't claim any rights to your content. We do need a limited license to store, display, and back up the content for you so the app can function, but that's it.

Things we don't promise

Hownd is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it reliable but we don't guarantee:

• That every feature will work perfectly on every device.
• That the service will be available 100% of the time (we use cloud infrastructure that occasionally goes down).
• That the AI Health Brief or food recall alerts will be complete or accurate — they're best-effort tools.

To the extent allowed by law, our liability for any claim related to Hownd is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (so for free-tier users, that's $0).

Disputes

If we have a disagreement, we'd rather sort it out by email first. Reach us at support@hownd.ca. If we can't resolve it that way, any dispute will be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and resolved in the courts of Toronto.

Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms, we'll update this page and notify you in the app. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.

Ending the agreement

You can delete your account anytime from Settings. We can suspend or close an account that violates these terms, but we'll try to give you notice first unless the violation is serious.
