Meet the French Bulldog
The French Bulldog’s big personality in a small, sturdy frame has made it one of the most popular city dogs in the world. Frenchies are affectionate, comical, and content with apartment life — as long as they get plenty of attention.
Temperament & personality
Frenchies are people-first dogs: loving, a little stubborn, and endlessly entertaining. They generally get on well with children and other pets and do not need much exercise, but they hate being left alone.
Exercise & grooming
A couple of short walks and some play are usually enough; their flat faces mean they overheat easily, so avoid heat and strenuous exercise. The short coat is low-maintenance, but facial folds need regular cleaning.
Health to watch
As a brachycephalic (flat-faced) breed, Frenchies are prone to breathing difficulties, heat sensitivity, skin-fold issues, and spinal problems. Keep them cool, lean, and work with a vet familiar with the breed.
Breed is a guide, not a guarantee — every dog is an individual. For anything specific to your dog, your vet is the best source.
