Is Raspberries safe for dogs?
Safe for dogs
Yes — raspberries are safe for dogs in small amounts.
Raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in fibre, antioxidants and vitamin C, making them a good occasional treat. They do, however, contain naturally-occurring trace amounts of xylitol, which is toxic to dogs in large quantities, so keep servings small — a few berries at a time rather than a handful. Fresh or thawed plain raspberries are fine; avoid any sweetened or syrup-packed products.
Symptoms to watch for
- Mild stomach upset
- Loose stools
