Is Pasta safe for dogs?

Plain cooked pasta, made from simple flour, water and egg, is safe for dogs in small amounts. It's bland and easy to digest, but it's essentially empty carbohydrate with little nutritional value, so keep it an occasional treat. The real problem is what pasta usually comes with: avoid sauces and seasonings, especially anything containing onion or garlic (toxic to dogs), plus added salt and rich, creamy or cheesy sauces. Serve it plain and in moderation, particularly for dogs prone to weight gain.
