Plain cooked oatmeal is safe for dogs and can be a useful source of soluble fibre, which supports digestion — it's sometimes recommended for older dogs or those with sensitive stomachs. Cook it in water (not milk, as many dogs are lactose-intolerant) and serve it plain and cooled.
