Is Lettuce safe for dogs?

Lettuce is not toxic and is a low-calorie, mostly water-and-fibre treat that many dogs enjoy for the crunch. Wash it well to remove any residue and chop it into small pieces so it is easy to chew and swallow. Feed only plain lettuce with no dressing, and keep amounts modest, as too much can cause loose stools.
