Safety guide
Is Cranberries safe for dogs?
Safe for dogs
Yes — plain cranberries are safe for dogs in small amounts.
Plain fresh, cooked or dried cranberries are non-toxic and can be fed in small quantities as an occasional treat. Avoid sweetened cranberry sauce, juice blends and trail-mix style products — many contain added sugar, and dried-fruit mixes often include raisins or grapes, which are seriously toxic to dogs. Too many cranberries can cause an upset stomach, so keep portions modest.
Symptoms to watch for
- Mild stomach upset
- Loose stools
