Azaleas are highly toxic and can cause heart failure in dogs.

Azaleas (and rhododendrons) contain grayanotoxins that disrupt sodium channels in the heart and nerve cells. Even a small amount can cause cardiovascular collapse.

  • Slow heart rate
  • Coma
