Is Asparagus safe for dogs?

Asparagus is not toxic and is fine as an occasional treat. Raw stalks are very tough and hard to digest, so cook it plain (steamed or boiled, no oil, butter, salt, onion or garlic) until soft. Cut it into bite-sized pieces to prevent choking, and keep portions small to avoid gas or loose stools.
